Summer is here, and it’s time to beat the heat by sitting back with refreshing drinks and talking with your bestie about the same drama you always talk about. Unlike that drama, a new drink recipe is always welcome; we’re ok with moving on! So, what’s on the menu? The drink of the summer is the SARTI Rosa Spritz, with its tropical flavors and gorgeous pink shade, it’s at the top of everyone’s list.

What is SARTI Rosa

Perhaps you’ve also come across TikToker Eli Rallo’s video about what some are calling the drink of the summer, and in case you haven’t, here is the rundown. SARTI Rosa Spritzes are currently being enjoyed by our Italian and UK counterparts and rightfully so, but the Apertif is kinda difficult to obtain in the US and somewhat costly to import. If you are willing to drop $70-$80 on the drink, then it’s all yours. But without trying it first, that can be a bit of a hassle and cost for some.

So what exactly would you be paying for? The SARTI Rosa is an apertif like Campari or Aperol; in fact, the company was acquired by the Campari Group. SARTI describes the apertif as having notes of blood orange, accompanied by tropical notes of mango and passionfruit. This, according to the makers, makes for a “full-bodied sweetness” with fruity flavors and a hint of sour. Which makes it perfect for mixing, especially with something crisp and refreshing like Prosecco.

The Key to a Good Spritz

A good spritz will have a good balance of liqueur, preferably a bitter liqueur or one with a bit of a bite, prosecco, and soda water. The best spritzes balance the bitterness, a hint of sweetness, and bubbliness in a 3-2-1 ratio. Three parts Prosecco, 2 parts liqueur, and 1 part soda water. The SARTI Rosa recipe uses this ratio, along with most other Good spritz recipes.

The most popular of them being the Hugo spritz, which is made with an Elderflower liqueur, usually St. Germain, and a hint of mint, creating a floral and crisp cocktail. There is also the Aperol Spritz, which features Aperol and creates a bittersweet bubbly cocktail. There is also the Limoncello Spritz, which features the sweet and tangy Limoncello for a sweet, citrusy cocktail. Any good version of these recipes uses the 3-2-1 ratio.

The SARTI Rosa Spritz

To make the viral SARTI Rosa Spritz, according to SARTI, combine SARTI Rosa, Prosecco, and Soda water over ice. SARTI Rosa’s recipe, according to their own site, says the perfect SARTI Rosa Spritz is 9 cl (3 oz) of Prosecco, 6 cl (2 oz) of SARTI Rosa, 3 cl (1 oz) of Soda water, and a garnish of lime. This will result in that perfect balance of bubbly sweetness with a bite.

The SARTI Rosa Spritz itself is the perfect drink for almost any summer occasion. From an easy brunch with friends to a day next to the pool, or just as an afternoon refresher, this cocktail works. But if you aren’t quite ready to pay the hefty price to get your hands on the SARTI Rosa, what are the alternatives while we wait for the apertif to make its way to the States?

Can’t get the SARTI Rosa? Try these Alternatives!

The SARTI Rosa itself does not really have a true dupe, which is part of the reason it’s so special. But there are some spirits that get you pretty close.

These alternatives include the Lillet Rosรฉ, which has notes of orange blossoms and grapefruit to compare with the citrus and floral notes you’d get in the SARTI. There is also the Lillet Blanc, which has notes of orange blossom, honey, and exotic fruit, giving you a similar sweetness and fruit note combination.

You can also try out the Apertivo Rosato. The apertif features hibiscus and orange blossom flavors, making it fragrant and slightly sweet. The Rosato also makes for a really good spritz!
